Bag repair prices in Dubai

Most bag repair quotes in Dubai are hidden behind "send us a photo" or an app download. We'd rather you see the starting prices before you message us.

Small Luxury Purse Restoration

Small Luxury Purse Restoration

AED85

Clutches, mini bags and small purses. Deep cleaning, conditioning, stitching and colour touch-ups, handled by our luxury specialists.

Classic Leather Handbag Restoration

Classic Leather Handbag Restoration

AED120

Full restoration for everyday and designer leather handbags: cleaning, conditioning, edge and colour work matched to the original.

Two things to know about them. First, they're starting prices for standard bags; a Chanel flap with hand-stitched edges costs more to work on than a canvas tote, and complex luxury restorations are priced individually after assessment. Second, the quote you approve on WhatsApp is the price you pay. No revised bill at delivery.

So how much does it cost to fix a handbag in Dubai overall? For typical repairs, plan for AED 50 to 350. That's a fraction of what you'd pay for international luxury repair services, where quotes commonly run from $100 to $1,600.

Zip repair and replacement

The most common repair we see, by far. Dubai is hard on zips: sand works into the teeth, humidity corrodes cheap sliders, and one overstuffed gym bag finishes the job. A sticking zip usually needs only a new slider (from AED 75). If the teeth or tape have failed, we fit a full replacement zip (from AED 150), matched to the original in length, gauge and colour, so it doesn't look like a repair at all.

Straps, handles and hardware

Straps and handles carry all the weight, so they fail first. We re-stitch loose handle anchors, rebuild worn handles (from AED 100) and replace straps entirely with colour-matched leather (from AED 200). Metal hardware, including buckles, D-rings, clasps and magnetic snaps, starts from AED 80. Where original branded hardware can't be sourced, we say so up front and offer the closest quality match instead.

Stitching, lining and edges

Small faults that grow. A few loose stitches on a seam (from AED 50) become a torn panel if the bag stays in use, and worn edge paint lets moisture into the leather beneath. We re-stitch seams with matching thread, repair or replace linings (from AED 150), and rebuild edges and piping (from AED 120). Colour touch-ups and full colour restoration (from AED 150) are applied by hand, layer by layer, rather than sprayed.

How our bag repair service works

The whole process happens from your sofa. Four steps:

01

Send a photo on WhatsApp

Snap the damage, send it to +971 50 685 6502, and tell us what's wrong. You'll get a clear quote in AED before anything is collected.

02

Free pickup from your door

Approve the quote and our captain collects your bag from anywhere in Dubai, often the same day. No minimum order, no pickup fee.

03

Repair at our Dubai workshop

Our specialists carry out the repair with colour-matched leather, thread, zips and hardware. If we find anything unexpected once we open the bag up, we call you before doing extra work.

04

Free delivery back to you

Most repairs are back in 3 to 5 days. Simple fixes are quicker.

That's it. No app to download, no drop-off trip to a mall kiosk, no waiting two weeks.

Is it worth repairing a bag?

Usually, yes. If a bag cost more than AED 300 new, still fits your life and has a fault that's mechanical rather than structural, repair is almost always worth it. A AED 150 zip replacement that gives a AED 900 bag another three years of use is easy maths. Replacement only makes sense when the bag was inexpensive to begin with or the base material itself has failed.

There's also the part that's harder to price. The bag you carried to your first job interview, the one from a trip you still talk about. Some bags aren't really replaceable at any price. Those are the ones we enjoy fixing most.

Sentiment aside, be realistic too: heavily sun-faded fabric, crumbling faux leather and deep cracking can't always be brought back. Faux leather in particular has a shelf life in this climate; once the coating starts flaking, no repair will hold. Send us a photo and we'll tell you honestly whether repair is worth your money. We turn away work when it isn't.

What we repair

If it has a zip, a strap or a seam, we can usually fix it.

This climate does bags no favours, and it shows in what arrives at our workshop. Leather dries and cracks in the heat, then the humidity swings swell it back. Sand grinds away at zips and edge paint. Car-to-mall-to-car life means handles take short, heavy loads instead of gentle daily wear. Most of what we repair isn't poor quality; it's good bags living in a hard climate. The most common ones through our workshop:

Leather specialist applying colour-matched dye to the edges of a dark brown designer handbag

Leather and designer bag repair

Handbags, totes, crossbody bags, clutches and wallets. We handle stitching, edge and piping wear, hardware replacement, lining and colour restoration on everyday leather bags and designer pieces from Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Gucci, Prada and similar houses. Colour work is applied by hand and matched to the original, and for luxury pieces we'll always tell you first if a repair could affect the bag's original finish.

Luggage and trolley bag repair

Travel bags take the hardest hits. Broken trolley handles, torn corners, burst seams, jammed zips after one overpacked flight home. We repair soft-shell luggage, duffels and trolley bags, replacing zips, stitching torn panels and fixing handles. It's far cheaper than a new suitcase, and you skip the airport-shop panic buy.

Shoes and bags together, one pickup

We're ShoeCare, so this one's natural: scuffed shoes and a tired bag can go in the same pickup. Plenty of customers send a pair of leather shoes for polishing alongside a handbag for a new zip, shoe and bag repair in one collection. One captain, one delivery, everything back looking sharp. See our shoe repair service for what we fix on the footwear side, including sandals and chappals.

Bag repair or bag cleaning: which does your bag need?

They're different services, and it matters for the quote. Repair fixes something broken: a zip, a strap, stitching, hardware. Cleaning deals with dirt, stains, odour and dull leather, and finishes with conditioning so the material stays supple in Dubai's heat.

A quick self-check: if the problem appeared suddenly (something snapped, tore or jammed), you need repair. If it crept in over months (grime, darkened handles, a stain that won't shift), you need bag cleaning. Many bags coming through our workshop get both, and we'll suggest the combination only when it genuinely makes sense, not as an upsell.

Why ShoeCare for bag repair in Dubai

Plenty of places in Dubai will take your bag. Here's where we're different:

  • 01

Free pickup and delivery, no minimum. Some well-known services only collect free above AED 500. We collect a single AED 75 zip repair for free.

  • 02

No app required. Book on WhatsApp or through our booking page. No account, no download, just a message.

  • 03

Transparent AED pricing. Starting prices are published above, and your exact quote comes before pickup, not after.

  • 04

Faster turnaround. Most repairs back in 3 to 5 days, against the 1 to 2 weeks common elsewhere.

  • 05

One service for shoes and bags. 7,000+ items restored, a 4.9 star rating, a full shoe cleaning service under the same roof, and transparent per-item pricing across everything we do.

We should be honest about limits too. We don't have a walk-in mall counter; we're a pickup and delivery service with a Dubai workshop. And if your bag needs manufacturer-only parts, like a branded lock assembly, we'll tell you and point you to the brand's own service centre rather than improvise.

Recent repairs from our workshop

A typical week on the bag bench: a leather tote with a burst seam re-stitched and conditioned, a designer crossbody with a corroded zip fitted with a colour-matched replacement, a trolley bag with a snapped handle rebuilt two days before its owner flew out. Before and after photos of repairs like these go up regularly, because with bag repair, seeing is what convinces.

Bag repair FAQs

Quick answers about bag repair pricing, zips, turnaround, luxury handbags, and coverage in Dubai.
Is it cheaper to repair or replace a bag?

Repair, in most cases. Typical bag repairs in Dubai cost AED 50 to 350, while a decent replacement leather bag starts around AED 500 and designer replacements run into thousands. Repair wins whenever the bag's structure is sound. If the bag was inexpensive and the damage is structural, put the money toward a new one instead.

Can a jammed or broken bag zip be fixed?

Almost always. A jammed zip usually needs a new slider, one of the quickest, cheapest fixes we do. If the teeth or tape are damaged, we replace the whole zip, colour-matched to your bag. Trying to fix a bag zip at home with pliers and hope tends to end with a bigger repair bill, so send a photo first.

How long does bag repair take?

Three to five days from pickup to delivery for most repairs. A zip slider or minor stitching is often back in 2 to 3 days. Lining replacement and colour restoration can take up to a week. You'll get the timeline with your quote.

Do you repair luxury handbags like Louis Vuitton, Chanel or Gucci?

Yes, every week. Our specialists use colour-matched leather, thread and hardware, and complex restorations are priced after we've assessed your photos. For very high-value pieces we'll give you an honest read on what's achievable before you commit anything.

Do you repair bags outside Dubai?

Free pickup and delivery covers Dubai only for now. Customers in Abu Dhabi and Sharjah can courier bags to our workshop and we'll return them the same way once the repair is done.
